As Predicted, Texas Plaintiff Opens Up Video Processing Campaign

In separate Eastern District of Texas complaints, Alderian Technologies, LLC has sued Acer (2:26-cv-00432), Lenovo (2:26-cv-00428), OnePlus (2:26-cv-00430), TCL (2:26-cv-00429), and Xiaomi (2:26-cv-00431) over the provision of products with certain video coding features: specifically, those that “contain SoCs, chipsets, software, and/or GPUs, which utilize hardware and software encoders that perform predictive quantization coding and block-based depth map coding” through their support of HEVC and other codecs. For Acer, the accused products include various laptops and desktops; for Lenovo and OnePlus, certain tablets (the Lenovo Tab Extreme and the OnePlus Pad) that include the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC; and for TCL and Xiaomi, various smartphones and tablets.
