Droplets Wins $15M in Damages in First Trial Success

A Texas jury awarded Droplets, Inc. $15 million, after finding that Overstock and Sears infringe three patents asserted by Droplets in litigation (6,687,745, 7,502,838, and 8,402,115). As part of its verdict the jury found Sears liable for $11 million in damages for its infringement and Overstock liable for $4 million. The jury rejected defendants’ argument that the patents are invalid due to obviousness or anticipation. The patents-in-suit relate to web-based application delivery.
