October 29, 2025

Nearby Systems LLC, a plaintiff associated with Texas monetization firm Empire IP LLC, has expanded its litigation campaign with suits against JPMorganChase (2:25-cv-01068) and Nordstrom (2:25-cv-01056) in the Eastern District of Texas. The four asserted patents generally relate to “displaying location-based content on a digital map” on a mobile device, with the defendants accused of infringement through the provision of their respective mobile apps.
