Size of Recently Transacted Portfolio Actually Numbers in the Hundreds

A funded Texas plaintiff recently launched a streaming litigation campaign by asserting five former Funai Electric patents for which it pleaded ownership. The USPTO had yet to make public a record of the underlying transaction, which it how has—revealing that this divestiture is much larger than the five patents now asserted. Among other records recently made public is another batch of patents divested from a Japanese operating company with multinational operations, as well as a portfolio of patents sold by a publicly traded company for $3M because they “pertain to markets that the [c]ompany no longer pursues”.
