Velos Media Sues Disney in Wake of “Anti-Interference Injunction” from Judge Albright
Velos Media, LLC has filed a Central District of California complaint against Disney (various subsidiaries including BamTech, ESPN, and Hulu) (2:26-cv-03052). The plaintiff targets the provision of streaming services that decode/encode video according to the H.265 standard with the same six patents that it asserted against ByteDance (TikTok) last June. Velos Media also seeks declaratory judgments that it has negotiated in good faith while the defendants have not. Last month, Western District of Texas Judge Alan D. Albright issued an injunction against interference with the case against TikTok there via a “secret” action filed in China by three ByteDance affiliates against Velos Media, Velos Media International Limited, and TechStream, LLC.
