ContactWave Resumes Litigation with Case Against Spotify

Its last active case having been dismissed in January 2026, ContactWave LLC has now sued Spotify (1:26-cv-00262) in the District of Delaware. The plaintiff asserts a single patent broadly directed to sending messages from vendors to “mobile communication addresses of mobile users” after verifying that the user has provided “acceptance information”, with Spotify accused of infringement through the provision of the Spotify platform. At issue are features for providing advertisements to users through the Spotify Ads service.
